Program Description:

In this study center program, students study European society, culture, history, business, economic, international relations, psychology, social sciences, and other subjects in Vienna, a city that continues to play a major role on the world stage. Students are also able to enroll in an internship. Vienna is your classroom, where students explore art history in Vienna's world-famous galleries and museums, psychoanalysis at Freud's home and office, or politics through visiting the UN, OSCE or OPEC. Students are housed in either student apartments, local residencies, or residence halls. IES Abroad also offers field trips to nearby destinations throughout the semester.

**For this program, students will need to apply for a Austrian visa. This requires an in-person appointment at the Austrian consulate or VFS Global office, so students should expect to travel to their visa appointment. This is included on the Budget Sheet for visa cost estimates.

  • If apply for spring study abroad: Do not plan international travel during Thanksgiving or Christmas Break if you are applying for an Austrian visa.

  • Please review the VFS website to determine visa requirements and consular jurisdictions.
